ENID, OK (May 2, 2026) – The City of Enid continues to make steady progress in recovery efforts following recent storm impacts, with coordinated support from local, state, and community partners.
Debris Removal Efforts: Garfield County District 1, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority are working alongside the City of Enid Public Works team in ongoing debris removal operations. The City extends its appreciation for their continued support. To date, more than 3,000 tons of debris have been cleared, with operations continuing.
Extended Landfill Hours: To accommodate increased demand, landfill hours remain extended today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Meal Assistance: The Salvation Army will continue providing meals through Sunday at the following times: Breakfast: 7 a.m., Lunch: 11:30 a.m., Dinner: 5 p.m.
Health Services: Tetanus vaccinations will be available today at the former Community Church of the Plains, located at 4205 S. Van Buren Street. Beginning Monday, the Garfield County Health Department will administer tetanus shots at 2501 Mercer Drive.
Volunteer Efforts: The Enid Volunteer Emergency Response Team (EVERT) has mobilized approximately 750 volunteers for a large-scale cleanup effort today. Volunteers will be working in five designated areas: Gray Ridge, South 30th Street, Southgate Road, Leona Mitchell Boulevard, and 16th Street.
To support volunteer operations, Enid Public Schools has provided transportation via three buses running continuous routes for the following shifts: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Volunteer parking and transportation staging will be located at the Bri-Steel south parking lot, 2215 S.
