Plainsmen made a statement!

The Enid Plainsmen earned an impressive 56–21 road victory over Putnam City West on Friday night, delivering their strongest performance of the young season.

Enid established control early and maintained it throughout the game, combining an explosive offensive performance with a defense that prevented the Patriots from keeping pace. After suffering a narrow three-point loss to Midwest City the previous week, the Plainsmen responded with determination, discipline and confidence.

More importantly, the victory represents a major step forward for a program building a new identity under head coach Chris Elerick. The Plainsmen didn’t simply win, they demonstrated the toughness and potential this team has been working to develop.

Enid will now return home with momentum as it prepares to face Bartlesville on Friday, September 18.

Final: Enid 56, Putnam City West 21

Congratulations to the players, coaches, families and everyone supporting Plainsmen football. This team is moving in the right direction.

For more than four decades, David C. Henneke has balanced the courtroom, the cattle pasture and a deep commitment to his community. Meet the farmer, attorney and dedicated public servant, we’re proud to call an Enid Monthly Local Legend.

For more than four decades, David C. Henneke has practiced law in Northwest Oklahoma, but when he needs to keep his sanity, you’re more likely to find him on the farm than in the courtroom. David’s roots in the area run deep. Born in Enid in 1955, he grew up in Drummond, where he played basketba...

Enid Monthly Joins 580 Media Group

Beloved local magazine begins a new chapter under new ownership; all advertising contracts and staff relationships continue uninterrupted

ENID, Okla. — September 9, 2026 — Enid Monthly LLC announced today that the magazine has been acquired by 580 Media Group as of today.

Enid Monthly will continue publishing on its regular schedule, with the same commitment to local storytelling, community features, and coverage of the people and businesses that make Northwest Oklahoma what it is. Readers will find the magazine in the same places, on the same rhythm, with the familiar names behind the bylines.

"Enid Monthly has always been about this community telling its own story," said Robert Faulk, founder and publisher of Enid Monthly. "580 Media Group brings the resources and the local commitment to carry that forward and grow it. I could not be happier about where the magazine is headed."

"Enid Monthly earned its readership the honest way, one issue at a time," said 580 Media Group. "Our job is to protect what works and invest in what comes next. We are proud to be its stewards."

All existing advertising contracts remain in full force. Advertisers will see no change to their rates, placements, terms, or run dates. Existing agreements transfer to 580 Media Group on their current terms, and no action is required from advertisers.

Vendors and contributors currently working with Enid Monthly should contact Advertising Director Jacque Herrera for instructions on billing, invoicing, and points of contact going forward.

Advertisers, vendors, and contributors with questions about the transition are encouraged to reach out directly.
