SPEEDWAY BUZZ: Here's a message from the Enid Speedway concerning last weekend fundraiser: "Mark Brill and Kip Hughes want to give a BIG Thank You for your support at Saturday's Save Enid Speedway benefit race. The event was a huge success. Thanks to the fans, who showed their support by coming out, and the racers who came to race for free, a large amount was raised. Many of you were more than generous and a special thank you goes out to those who could not attend but sent money via Venmo. The racing family really came together and now we can look forward to what 2026 will bring. As we have more news to report we will keep everyone updated on facebook and the website. As construction and improvements are made this winter we will track the progress with photos and post it for everyone to see. We are looking forward to the 2026 season."

HISTORY BUZZ: The German Village, an old bar located at 101 S. Grand. It has been home to may businesses over the years including Layfield Shoes. It is currently Downtown Threads. Also the location where three Enid police officers died in the line of duty, one each in 1895, 1906, and 1936.

METEOR BUZZ: The Orionid meteor shower is peaking October 21–22 and will be active through November 7.

Often called “the best meteor shower of fall,” the Orionids typically produce 15 to 25 meteors per hour under dark skies. This year’s peak aligns perfectly with a New Moon, meaning zero moonlight interference — so even faint meteors will be visible under ideal conditions.
~
Best Viewing Time: After midnight, when the Orion constellation rises higher in the sky, offering a better chance of spotting the brighter fireballs.
