•• A flood advisory remains in affect until Wednesday afternoon for parts of Major, Woodward and Woods counties along the Cimarron River, as excessive rainfall has continued to fall in Northwest Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service.
•• The river was close to filling the banks at 7.6 feet Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2025, according to the NWS.
•• Flood stage is 8 feet in areas from near Freedom to U.S. 281 south of Little Sahara State Park near Waynoka, according to the advisory. Overflow of the Cimarron may occur Tuesday in some low-lying areas, the NWS states, but the river is receding and expected to continue to fall.
