I cannot transfer the Facebook/META reviews I have received from my customers over the years that gave us our Five-Star rating, it's a pretty big ask to have you all drop a new review on my Yelp business page, but it would sure help if a few of you could share your Redwoods Customer service experience with others.

Where are your recorded memories? Have you tried to get your tapes converted but got caught up in a bulk video processing company's unrealistic demands for using their kits, barcodes, and the forever sales that never add up to real savings?

You're not alone. Many families have given up on the process because those bulk media companies don't do video enhancements during the process, and their lead times are outrageous. How can it take 12 weeks to process your order if you only sent them 10 tapes to convert? Consider that a single tape, on average, has about 1 hour of recordings. Example: 10 tapes x 1hr ea =10 hrs. Add 30 minutes to edit, apply a digital title, and transfer it to a USB drive. Total conversion and edit time = 10.5 hours.

If a digital conversion company is quoting a 12-week lead time to convert a 10-tape project, it should raise a huge red flag. Redwoods can produce professional results for the same 10-tape project in as little as 3-5 days, depending on the condition and length of your tapes.

The answer? Their business model uses commercial-grade VCRs (Consumer-grade) and employs shift workers to convert your priceless memories one shift at a time.

That is not outstanding customer service; it reflects a bulk processing company that works for Universities and Government, and fills the gaps in its business model with your material. I wouldn't ship a single tape to one of these big box barcode/kit companies because they don't give one hoot about the quality of the work they produce, only the volume of "Items" they can trick folks into sending them in one of their restrictive kits.

My mission is to save your families priceless memories you've recorded over a lifetime on VHS video, Super 8 & 8 mm film, Audio cassette or photographs by converting them to a digital format using video and audio editing software tools, state of the art professional grade JVC S-VHS Recorders combined with my knowledge and experience.

The business of receiving a family’s only set of recorded history is a huge responsibility and I take it very seriously. I care a great deal about each customers memories and treat them as if they were my own. I provide excellent customer service and that requires communication, discretion, respect for the materials and the people I deal with. I must earn your trust and confidence from the very first phone contact or messaging opportunity. And unlike many of the other companies that offer to convert your memories and simply digitize them and send them back to you, I add a personal touch to my services that give you the peace of mind to know that I have your best interests in mind.

I offer a wide variety of editing and restoration services you will see listed under “The Services” section on my page. The services I provide range from the conversion of Film, Video, Photos, slides, negatives, and audio cassettes. I use the latest version of editing software available from the manufacturers. I use a Windows 10 64 bit based OS platform installed on very capable computers systems. All of my computer systems have built-in back up and are set up for redundancy in case of hardware failure.

My process includes the use of ESD materials which stands for Electrostatic Discharge these precautionary measures prevent damage to your recordings that can occur from simply walking across the carpeting. Static discharge is the shock you experience when you touch someone or something when you are not properly grounded. This shock is very damaging to your recordings.

I capture your analog recordings using a video capture card and software. That coverts this signal to a digital modern format, so it can be transferred to DVD’s, CD’s or USB flash, drives The video equipment I use is not the same as the retail units you can buy at a big name department store. I use JVC time-based recorders or (TBC) equipped Video recorders that also have built-in video calibration and stabilization that keeps your videos aligned and tuned for the best possible results. These are also S-VHS machines that provide an additional 400 TVL or more commonly referred to as TV lines of resolution. The S-VHS or Super VHS technology is far superior in overall picture quality than the composite VHS recorders that utilize the RED, WHITE and YELLOW connections.

We work closely with you to gather important information such as chronological data, details like names, dates, events(s), location(s) so the finished product tells the story with a smooth even flow so folks won’t have to guess the where? the when? or the who? in your finished production. I know we all including myself have the best intentions when it comes to recording or photographing special events or family history but our lives and schedules get in the way and before you know it those memories are either lost or deteriorating in an unsuitable environment & subsequently become damaged beyond restoration.
