A water leak has been reported in the 1100 block of Mount Vernon. Crews were repairing a small leak when a section of the pipe ruptured, resulting in a larger leak.

Residents in the area from Yorkstown Dr. to Charlottesville Dr. may experience water outages while repairs are underway.

Crews are working diligently to fix the ruptured pipe and restore service as quickly as possible.

Atmos Energy has isolated the leak. All roadways are reopening except South McKinney from Crockett St. to Milam St. will remain closed until further notice.

Please continue to follow all instructions from emergency personnel and remain clear of the area for your safety.

The City of Ennis Fire Department and Police Department have closed a two‑block radius near 200 Milam and Crockett St due to a gas main leak. Fire Department crews are actively evacuating the area. Please avoid the area until further notice.

Atmos Energy is on site and working to shut off the gas.

Please follow all instructions from emergency personnel and remain clear of the area for your safety.
