It’s hard to overstate how important crawfish patterns are on the Susquehanna River. Smallmouth bass love craws just about everywhere, but the Susquehanna holds an especially high density of them. In the fall, many anglers shift their focus to baitfish imitations like jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits, which absolutely catch fish this time of year. But don’t overlook craw patterns.

This 19” smallmouth, a chunky walleye, and a flathead were all caught within 15 minutes of each other on a tube bounced along the bottom.

I was throwing glide baits, spinnerbaits, and swimbaits most of the evening. But this chunky fish wanted the tried and true 4.25” Nikko Fishing Baits hellgrammite on a Northbranch Tackle sled jig.

Hey everyone,

I’ve had a few folks reach out about the break from YouTube, just checking in to see if I’m alright. First off, that truly means a lot. Thank you. I’m grateful to have subscribers and friends who care enough to ask.

To clear things up: I’m doing just fine. I still love fishing just as much as ever. I just want to keep it that way. As the channel grows and the revenue from each video increases, it’s easy to start viewing fishing more like a 9-to-5. But that’s never what I wanted. Fishing has always been my escape from the lawyer grind of contracts, emails, and meetings, not an extension of it.

Lately, I’ve still been getting out there, doing some field testing for Nikko and landing a few tanks. After my upcoming salmon trip, I’ll be sure to let you all know when to expect the next video.

Hey everyone. I wanted to give a quick update. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit burnt out, so I’m stepping back for a little while. I’ve got a few videos recorded, but honestly, I haven’t had the energy to edit them.

The last few times I went fishing, I left the GoPro at home. I wanted to see if the joy of it was still there, just me, the water, and the fish, no cameras, no pressure. I needed to know if I still love this the way I did as a kid, even if no one else ever sees it.

And honestly… it’s been nice. Quiet. Real.

I do plan to be back soon, but only when I’m sure this is more than just another job or paycheck. I’m heading out on a salmon trip next week, so I’ll check back in after that.
