What an amazing opportunity this was yesterday! I met amazing individuals who presented very well and one who was celebrating his 5th Ted Talk! Thank you to my family and future in-laws for keeping me in your thoughts and sending me well wishes prior to my talk! Overall it went well. I learned more about my strengths and challenges as a speaker. Specifically, there were at least two longer pauses…. Although I am criticizing some aspects of my talk, I was reminded that it was no small feat and I should rest in that. It filled my heart with joy to be approached afterwards by several individuals who felt connected to what I was presenting on. Several provided compliments, someone stated that they wrote notes during the talk, and another asked to take a picture with me then added me on LinkedIn. 😅

Additionally, this was the first time I ever had any interpreters present for one of my talks/presentations. After my talk, one of the interpreters approached me and shared that she experienced something similar (same symptoms, different diagnosis) to the health concerns I shared during my talk. She stated, “I just think that was amazing that I was the one that interpreted for you.” I agree ma’am, I agree!
