Hello, dear friends 💫

It’s with a heart full of gratitude (and a few happy-sad tears) that I share some big news: after much soul-searching, I’ve decided to close Atypical Emporium at Bliss on Main and step into a brand new chapter of my life.

This wasn’t an easy decision—it’s one that comes wrapped in love, reflection, and deep appreciation for each of you. Being part of your beauty journey has been nothing short of magical. Whether we shared quiet moments, big laughs, or simple transformations, every appointment has meant the world to me.

The good news? I’ll still be taking Saturday appointments at Bliss on main through the end of July—so there’s still time for one last sparkle! ✨ And if you’re looking for a new go-to artist (who doesn’t only work Saturdays) after that, I’d be more than happy to help you find someone wonderful.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for trusting me with your time, your stories, and your style. Atypical Emporium at Bliss on Main has been a dream come true because of you.

The Alabama FOCUS Act, signed into law by Governor Kay Ivey, restricts the use of cell phones and other wireless communication devices during the school day in all Alabama public schools, effective July 1, 2025. The act aims to minimize distractions and promote a focused learning environment. It also mandates internet safety policies and a social media safety course for students.

Here’s what you need to know starting with the 2025-2026 school year: 🗓️

📱 Wireless Communication Device Prohibition:
Students will not be allowed to have cell phones or other wireless devices in public elementary or secondary school buildings or on school grounds during the instructional day. Devices must be turned off and stored away from the student’s person (such as in a locker, vehicle, backpack or similar storage spot).

Devices must be:
• Turned COMPLETELY OFF
• Kept in lockers/vehicles/backpacks
• Not accessed during breaks/lunch/class transitions

📵 Prohibited Devices Include:
- Cell phone
- Smart watches (Apple Watch, etc.)
- Wireless earbuds (AirPods, etc.)
- Smart glasses
- Bluetooth headphones
- Tablets with cellular capability
- Pagers/beepers
- Any other wireless communicating devices

✅ Exceptions include:
During an emergency that threatens the life or safety of the student or others. ⚠️
If the device is needed under a student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), 504 Plan, or Individualized Health Plan.
