This website was started due to my love for technology, pop culture, and since I have Mild Asperger’s and my 3 kids are all autistic I want to provide autism resources to others affected by it. I would like to become a leading technical website, offering product reviews, tidbits on the latest technology, and news about autism and ways to make life easier for autistic people and the people af
fected by autism. I also want to raise money to help organizations that support autism. I will start with feat of Southern Nevada and grow from there. Here is our story in more detail:
My name is David, I am the founder of TechNewsZone. To be specific, I am the sort of Apsergers , brainiac, almost MBA, Army Vet, native Las Vegan, father of 3 children, a girl, 10, and twin 14 year old boys on the autism spectrum. I have always been a technology lover, and have some contacts in the tech industry, and have used computers and computer technology since I was 9, for about 33 years total. In my full time job, I am a regional sales manager for a technical software company. I have been in and around the world of autism, and Special Olympics since my twins were born in 1996. My kids are all verbal, 2 are educationally delayed by 2-3 years, not particularily athletic or coordinated and 1 is educationally, delayed, verbal, and in a self contained classroom. He is in 9th grade but is educationally at a 2nd or 3rd grade level educationally. They are all delayed socially, one more than the rest, and none ride bikes or skate board or do much other than Special Olympics bowling, gymnastics, and they did some soccer and basketball in the past. I think that 2 of them will make it in the so called real world, but one I am more concerned about. In regards to starting the website, I have thought about if for a few years, but with the start of the new decade, and my 42nd birthday about to arrive on the 28th of January, I decided to finally do it. I want to pay it forward and make a difference for autism. Our website’s focus is Autism news, resources, and fundraising to help autistic people and their families as well as I can. The second thing that my website focuses on is technology, leaning towards special needs related technology. My intent is to grow into a news organization that has autism as its primary cause as well as random things that pop into my mind. The website will eventually have technology reviews, our you tube channel will grow to have reviews on products, especially those relating to special needs, and those that could help autistic people, and will be an online fundraising organization as well for autism. Once I get the fundraiser actually fundraising I will post the stories and pictures of some of the people that received help or at least the photos of the ones we donate the ipads to, if they want us to. In the future I want to raise funds to send autistic families on trips, or camp. I want to be community driven and appeal to what people want or need help with. Presently, we are conducting a fundraiser with www.thepuzzlingpiece.com, basically for every 60 pieces of their autism focused jewelry that is purchased on behalf of www.technewszone.com, for $ 20.00 each, they will donate an ipad. We will as an incentive to get people to donate, give one ipad away to one of the donors for every 3 or 4 ipads that we earn if they want it, if not it can go to the autistic people that need them.
