HOMECOMING EVENTS: THE DRIVE-IN

Written by: Danielle Pidcock

Through “Rain, snow, or shine,” on April 16, the Basin Drive-in welcomed Snow College students in to watch the 2017 Jumanji for free.

In celebration of Homecoming, the week of April 12-117, Snow College was stacked with events for students to participate in some Homecoming fun. On Thursday, The Basin Drive-in was filled with students' cars and trucks, ready to watch Jumanji with free popcorn that was offered by the SBO’s to the first 200 cars. Students have been grateful for the opportunity given to students to get out. Maggie Baller states, student, “The movie was such a fun time! loved the memories we have been able to make during homecoming week!”

Students not only brought their trucks or cars, but some brought hammocks to create a cool set up for the movie. Mitchell Tarr, student, states, “if you don’t bring hammocks and a propane fire, you’re not doing it right.” ... to read more click the link in our bio.

UNION PERFORMS DURING HOMECOMING WEEK

Written by: Kaylie Webster

Snow College’s homecoming week took place on April 12-17 and throughout the week the band Union performed on three different occasions.

Snow College’s Union group has eight different types of performance groups: Highway, Railroad, Boulevard, Spotlight, Universal, Foundry, City, and Street. There are also tech people in the Union who are in charge of different jobs on and off stage. Other people who are a part of Union choose to be incharge of the promotions where their job is to get the word out about Union events.
On Monday April 12, three of Snow’s Union performance groups (Foundry, Street, and City) went on stage during the Ice Cream Social event. Many Badgers got to know each other a little bit better as music was being performed by Union.

On Friday April 16, during the BBQ event Union Universal performed ‘Legends of Rock’. Ty Carter is a Snow College student who is also a member of the Union group. Carter performed during the BBQ event shares, “I think it went well. The band sounded good and the performance was fun. COVID-19 has caused performers to lose a ton of opportunities to play so it was cool to [finally] perform.”... to read more click the link in our bio.

BADGERS WIN HOMECOMING

Written by: Max Christensen III

With homecoming week arriving in Ephraim in the spring of this Covid school year, the Snow College football team looked to gain that coveted homecoming victory.

Entering Saturday April 19, the Badgers were ranked #4 in the nation at 3-0, coming off the heels of one of the program’s most memorable victories out in Scranton, Pennsylvania. They had just knocked off the #5-ranked Lackawanna Falcons, giving them their first loss at home since 2014. Now, they welcomed the Silver Storm of Miami to make the cross country trip in this battle of familiar foes. They have played each other in each of the last two seasons, with the combined score being 110-50 for Snow College and the result of two straight wins for the Badgers.

Snow football got off to a bit of a slow start on homecoming, with ASA Miami taking a 6-0 lead for most of the first half. They were able to score on a touchdown pass from quarterback Garrison Beach to tight end Vita Noa. This got the ball rolling for the Badgers, as they were able to pile on two rushing touchdowns from running back Seth Kaelin, and one more touchdown pass from Beach to wide receiver Miles Royal. This helped the Badgers finish off the Silver Storm as they came storming back themselves to the finish with a final score of 27-6. This also helped the Badgers have another great come from behind victory... to read more click the link in our bio.
