Yesterday was a huge accomplishment for this young man here. He finally got to take what he calls his "artwork" around star speedway. At the age of 16 he started with just a frame and 2 years later built a beautiful racecar he has named "patience". A lot of kids get race cars handed to them (i did when i was that age), he got materials and use of what he need for tools and knocked it out of the park. I think he may now be one of the best fabricators I know and will only get better (not just from what he has done on this car but many other projects). The on track results did not go as we hoped as the engine never ran right the whole day and got progressively worst as the day went on. Through all that he never got down and continued to work on it. He showed good situational awareness paying attention to the flags getting far enough out of the way of the leaders as the car limped around and knowing enough to finally cut his feature short to avoid making any engine problems worst. He also ran a very good line and wasn't afraid to run it along the wall. So all and all we checked a bunch of the box's and need to figure out some motor for him so he can go play in the crowd! I'm a very proud uncle of what Cody has already accomplished and eager to see him progress! I'm also proud of his brother Jake and friend Timmy for working with him Saturday like they have been doing it for years. Kids got a couple good crew guys already! Ok long Sappy uncle rant over! Now get back to working on that car you Danm kids lol!
