It’s Allan with an important update if you’re headed south on I-79.

PennDOT has lifted the speed limit and right-lane-only commercial vehicle restrictions that were in place on Interstate 79 in the northwest region.

Due to the winter storm impacting the region, speed limits were temporarily reduced to 45 mph on the highway.

All speeds are now restored to their usual posted limits.

Hey, it’s Allan with a weather update. Winter weather is slowing traffic on Interstate 79 and Interstate 80 in northwest Pennsylvania.

PennDOT has temporarily reduced the speed limit to 45 miles per hour on I-79. This applies from Exit 147A near Meadville to Exit 178B at Interstate 90. Interstate 80 from the Ohio state line to Exit 42 (Route 38, Emlenton.) The change comes as snow and ice impact the region.
