Looking for something to do with the kids tomorrow? Downtown Erie’s Labor Day Parade starts at 10 a.m., the Waterford Community Fair opens at 2 p.m., and it is Waldameer’s final day of the season. Sniff.

We’re a little late with this week’s top weekend picks because we’ve been waiting for cancellations and schedule changes to shake out after the storms that caused so much damage. My heart goes out to everyone affected. I've heard some tough stories.

A number of weekend events have been canceled, particularly in the downtown area. Presque Isle remains closed at least through Sunday, and Frontier Park and other City of Erie parks are also closed for now.

But other big attractions -- like Waldameer, the Children's Museum and TREC -- are open and there are events still happening, so if you can, get out and enjoy the last big summer hurrah!

As always, please double-check for any last-minute updates before you head out. We will update on our page as we see things, but definitely check organizer event pages too for the latest info and any last-minute changes.

The Erie Zoo is free for everyone during Zoo for All this Saturday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., with a book drive and plenty of fresh-air family fun.
