FIRST WARNING WEATHER: Lake snow increases overnight and will impact the morning commute. Afternoon snow is also expected to pack a punch. Tune into Tom in the morning.

FIRST WARNING WEATHER: Strong southwest winds Monday triggered a seiche on Lake Erie. Gusts up to 75 mph pushed water toward Buffalo, causing lake levels there to rise more than six feet by midday. On the western end of the lake, including near Toledo, water levels dropped dramatically, exposing parts of the lakebed. These rapid water level changes are a reminder of how powerful wind can be on Lake Erie.

FIRST WARNING WEATHER: Here is the potential snow accumulation through Saturday for the region. Keep in mind this shows a range of possible snowfall, and the lower end of the totals is more likely for many areas. A Lake Effect Snow Warning is in effect as this becomes a multi-day event, with snow occurring in several rounds rather than all at once. Snow begins tonight and continues into Friday, when lighter accumulations are expected at times.
