Larson Texts, Inc., along with its subsidiary Big Ideas Learning LLC, produces math textbooks for sixth grade through college calculus that are used by over five million students each year. Larson Texts began with the vision of Dr. Ron Larson. Ron, a mathematics professor at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, recognized the need for student-friendly math textbooks. s, was published in 1978. Since then, the more than 200 textbooks produced by Ron and Larson Texts have been known for their readability, accuracy, and real-life applications. Many of the textbooks are leaders in their markets and have won multiple industry awards. Larson Texts produces textbooks for several well-respected educational publishers, including Cengage Learning, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Pearson, and W. Freeman. Larson Texts publishes its own textbooks through Big Ideas Learning and AndYou.com. Larson Texts employs a sizable staff of mathematicians, editors, technical and graphic artists, desktop publishers, educational consultants, web developers, and administrators.
