After Friday's National Walleye Tour tournament, I wasn't ready to call it a weekend. I decided to jump into the Duck Creek tournament with Gabriel Gallegos, and we finished right in the middle of the pack with around 39 pounds. We had a couple fish come unbuttoned that easily could've pushed us into the mid-40s, but that's tournament fishing 🤷‍♂️

On Sunday, I still wasn't done, so I entered the Sheboygan Walleye Club walleye club tournament. I couldn't find a partner, so I went solo. First cast of the morning, I lost a 9-pounder on a reef in Green Bay. Add in 20 mph wind gusts with 15 mph sustained winds and landing fish by yourself in those conditions isn't easy😮‍💨

I kept grinding, bounced around all day, and managed to bring five fish to the scales for just under 26 pounds.

Competing solo on Green Bay against some of the best walleye anglers in the country was an amazing experience. Every tournament teaches you something, and every day on the water makes you a better angler.

Next up: Battle on the Bay in two weeks. I'm looking forward to it. Stay tuned!

That's a wrap on my rookie season with the National Walleye Tour!

The results weren't exactly what I had hoped for, but if there's one thing fishing teaches you, it's that every day on the water is a chance to learn. This season threw just about everything at us—from boat issues to weather challenges to fish that had a habit of coming unbuttoned at the worst possible time—but that's tournament fishing.

we went out both days expecting to put together 45-50 pound bags. We were around the right fish, caught plenty of quality walleyes, including several 7- and 8-pounders, but the giants that got away were the difference. That's how close this sport can be.

While I didn't make the championship or qualify for next season, I leave my rookie year with something just as valuable—experience. I've met incredible anglers, made new friends, traveled to some amazing fisheries, and learned lessons that will stay with me for the rest of my career.

A huge thank you to my co-anglers, everyone who supported me throughout the season, and all the volunteers and staff who make the National Walleye Tour possible.

The fire is still burning. I love chasing walleyes, and I'm nowhere near finished. Time to regroup, keep grinding, and earn my way back.

See you on the water—and remember, the next big one is always just one cast away! 🎣

Stop #4 of the National Walleye Tour – Oconto

Pre-fishing for the Oconto event has been the best I've seen in years. Now it's all about putting the right fish in the boat, in the right order 👏🏻 Some tough decisions are going to have to be made.

I need a Top 5 finish to even have a shot at the 2027 National Walleye Tour season—and even then, it's a huge maybe.

The people who know me know I'm a zero or hero kind of guy. I won't leave anything on the table. I'm giving this tournament everything I've got.

Boat 101 due back at 4:20. See you at the scales, my friends. 🎣💪
