๐Ÿค” SHOULD TIPPING BE MANDATORY?

I saw a restaurant sign today that got me thinking.

For years, tipping was supposed to be a way to reward good service. But lately, it seems like it's becoming less of a choice and more of an expectation.

Some people argue that restaurant workers rely on tips to make a living and that mandatory gratuities help ensure they're fairly compensated.

Others feel that paying employees should be the restaurant's responsibility, not the customer's, and that tips should remain completely voluntary.

So here's the question:

If a restaurant automatically adds 20% to every bill, is that still a tip... or is it just another fee?

What's your opinion?

๐Ÿ‘ Tipping should be mandatory

โค๏ธ Tipping should always be optional

๐Ÿ˜ฎ It depends on the service

I was out enjoying a peaceful walk when I came across something I never thought I'd see in the middle of a field.

A refrigerator.

Just standing there like it pays property taxes.

I'm not judging.

I just want to hear the story behind a shopping cart containing approximately 500 pounds of pickles. ๐Ÿฅ’๐Ÿ˜‚

Maybe I'm getting old, but I'm getting tired of needing an app for absolutely everything. ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

The other day I pulled into a parking lot and there wasn't a pay station, no cash option, and no way to use a card.

The only way to pay was to download an app.

That's when it hit me: it feels like every basic task now comes with the same requirement.

Need to park? Download an app.

Need to pay a bill? Download an app.

Need a receipt? Download an app.

Need customer service? Download an app.

For a lot of people, that's no big deal. They do everything on their phones and prefer it that way.

But what about seniors who aren't comfortable with smartphones? People with limited data? Visitors from out of town? Or people who simply don't want to create another account and hand over more personal information just to complete a basic transaction?

I'm not anti-technology. Technology can be incredibly convenient.

I just don't understand why so many businesses are eliminating simple alternatives that worked perfectly fine for decades.

At what point does convenience for some become a barrier for others?

Do you think businesses should always offer a non-app option for things like parking and payments, or is it reasonable to expect everyone to adapt to a more digital world? ๐Ÿค”

Maybe I'm making too big a deal out of this, but it seems like basic courtesy.

I walked by a house today where someone was washing their SUV, and the entire sidewalk was covered in soapy water.

The runoff was flowing down the driveway, across the sidewalk, and into the street. Anyone walking by had two choices: walk through the slippery mess or step off the sidewalk and go around it.

At one point, a person walking their dog literally stopped and looked unsure about which way to go. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜‚

Look, I have zero problem with people washing their vehicles at home. Do whatever you want on your property.

But sidewalks are shared spaces. Kids ride bikes on them. People walk their dogs. Neighbors use them every day.

It just seems like a little extra effort could keep the soap and water on the driveway instead of turning the public walkway into a mini car wash.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but if your vehicle wash spills onto the sidewalk and forces everyone else to work around it, isn't that kind of inconsiderate?

Or is this one of those things most people wouldn't think twice about? ๐Ÿค”

Every time I walk through here, there's a little more stuff.

A few toys became a pile of toys.

And now the hallway feels less like a shared space and more like someone's personal play area.

I get that these loads have to be transported somehow.

But being stuck behind this thing was stressful.

Those poles were extending so far past the trailer that it felt impossible to judge a safe following distance. One sudden stop and all I could think about was how much room I wanted between me and that load.

I'm sure everything was permitted and done correctly, but it still didn't make me feel any better sitting behind it.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I can't stop staring at this thing. ๐Ÿ˜ญAll I wanted was a simple path so I could drive my cart...

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I can't stop staring at this thing. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

All I wanted was a simple path so I could drive my cart to the back of the property without tearing up the grass.

Instead, I came home to what looks like a strip of fresh highway running straight through my yard.

The crew assured me this was exactly what I asked for and that everything would look better once the surrounding grass grows in. Maybe they're right. But right now, all I can see is a giant black ribbon cutting across what used to be a nice green lawn.

The worst part is that this wasn't cheap. I paid good money expecting something that would blend into the property, not become the first thing anyone notices when they look at it.

My golf cart probably loves it.

I'm still trying to convince myself that I do. ๐Ÿ˜…

Be honest... does this eventually look better, or would you be disappointed too?

Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this is excessive, but I couldn't believe what I saw today. ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿš’

I got off the exit and came across what appeared to be a minor fender bender. Two vehicles, very little visible damage, nobody seemed trapped, and traffic was still moving.

Yet there were **two fire trucks with lights flashing** at the scene.

I understand safety is important, and I know first responders have protocols they have to follow. But from the outside looking in, it felt like a huge response for what looked like a relatively small accident.

It got me wondering how often emergency resources get sent to situations that don't end up needing that level of response.

Am I being unfair, or does this seem like overkill to anyone else?
