One year out?! This is CRAZY!

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is already breaking records—and not even out yet. IMAX screenings have completely sold out a full year before its July 17, 2026 release, marking what critics are calling the longest pre-sale in cinematic history.
The film is getting an exclusive 1570-format IMAX release—the first ever shot entirely on IMAX film cameras—across 26 premium theaters worldwide. Places like IMAX Melbourne sold 1,800 tickets overnight; in North America and London, seats vanished within minutes. With only one screening per day available, fans have scrambled to lock in their movie plans nearly a year out.
What’s more, reselling is already in full swing: early tickets are being listed on eBay and other platforms in the $300–$500 range. One fan even bought a pair of July 2026 tickets for $399—and more are appearing online daily.
