: We heard from store management. They ask that anyone who may have been affected should go to the Sinclair station at 2375 Highway 522 and leave the following information:
• Name and contact details
• Time frame or date of purchase
• Vehicle make and model
• Product purchased
• Payment type
• Amount of purchase

If you have a mechanic’s receipt or diagnostic information for your vehicle, this will be helpful as well.

: A fuel delivery mix-up temporarily affected the premium and diesel pumps at the Questa Sinclair gas station on the town’s south side at 2375 Highway 522 in Questa, the station confirmed Friday afternoon.

According to station management, a delivery truck with Express Gasoline mistakenly mixed premium gasoline with diesel fuel during a recent delivery. Employees identified the issue quickly, limiting the number of customers affected.

“We acted fast to handle the situation,” the station said in a statement. “There were minimal people affected, and we want to reassure customers that our current regular unleaded supply at the station has been tested and is fine.”

The fuel supplier is assessing the incident and has accepted full responsibility for the error.

The Sinclair northside station remains unaffected. All grades of fuel there — regular, premium, and diesel — have been tested and are safe for use, the company said.

“We apologize for the inconvenience this incident has caused,” the statement read.

If you got gas at the station on Tuesday (10/14) or early on Wednesday (10/15) and you’re having issues with your vehicle, take it to a mechanic and get documentation of the issue. You will then need to take the receipt and documentation to the station.

: An off-duty Questa police officer was killed riding his motorcycle in Taos around 2 p.m. Friday (Oct. 17) at the intersection of Albright Street and Paseo del Pueblo Sur.

Anthony Martinez had been apart of the Questa Police Department since May of this year.

Mayor John Ortega says, “This is a very sad and tragic day for the Village of Questa Police Department. My thoughts and prayers are with Officer Martinez's family. Our employees are like family and I pray for their safety daily. Anthony was a great addition to our team and family. Please keep officer Martinez and all the QPD officers in your thoughts and prayers.”

Prior to joining the Questa Police Department, Martinez worked for the Taos Police Department for two years and prior to that, with the Taos Pueblo Dept. of Public Safety.

Taos Police Lt. and Spokesman Stephen Ortega says police are still investigating the crash. The passenger of the second involved vehicle was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Lt. Ortega says the department is still conducting interviews with witnesses who were on-scene.

“This was a difficult day for our agency. We all knew Martinez personally and kept in touch with him, even after he left Taos Police,” Lt. Ortega said. “He was a good man, hard worker, and a great police officer. We’re mourning this loss.”

Mayor Ortega has ordered all flags within the Village of Questa limits to be flown at half staff until Officer Martinez’s funeral.
