I’ve seen this again and again, both in my own life and in the lives of hundreds of people I’ve counseled.

Right before there’s a breakthrough in a marriage—when an issue gets resolved, when they learn to forgive, and when they love again—so many quit and separate or get a divorce.

Or right before there’s a huge answer to prayer, whether it’s finances or an open door in ministry, many give up and quit.

The habit, the addiction, the struggle that has been a stronghold in your life... whatever it may be, God is working on it.

But just before He answers and delivers, so many people give up.

Maybe that’s where you are right now. You’ve tried. You’ve worked. You’ve prayed. You’re tired. You’re ready to say, “I can’t do this anymore.”

God says, “I have an answer for you.” He has a plan. It all begins with our attitude.

God’s will for you in adversity is that you develop joyful endurance.

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result that you might be perfect (or mature), lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4, NASB1995)

Don’t give up too soon. God hasn’t forgotten you. He’s still working, even when you can’t see it. Hang in there. Stay faithful. You might be closer to His best than you realize.
