This bull has been around for years, but he’s always seemed to stay on the outskirts and let the big boys have the spotlight. Not this year!

It’s so cool watching him step up, get in the mix, and start running with the big bulls. He’s definitely making his presence known this rut!

Party of one at the lake! Having himself a gold old time!

Check out those double devil tines and the antler stuck in his neck!

He’s very recognizable by that white patch of fur by his eye.

The comments on yesterday’s post honestly surprised me. So many people were upset that I didn’t try to pull the antler out, and I think it’s important to remember that these are wild animals.

This is simply part of the reality of the elk rut. He doesn’t appear to be suffering, and right now he has one thing on his mind… cows! 😂 There’s a very good chance that antler will fall out on its own.

As hard as it can be to watch, nature doesn’t always look pretty. There isn’t a veterinarian to call or an ambulance to take him to the hospital. The best thing we can do is observe, respect their space, and let nature take its course.

I’ve seen bulls recover from much worse, and this guy is out there doing exactly what elk do during the rut.

Smash 💥

He’s big, he’s spicy, and he has zero patience for anything with wheels. 😂

He’s recovered so well from those puncture wounds and is looking great!

Beautiful morning in Nederland this morning! Still lots of green aspens, but I’m seeing yellow and even some orange star...

What a scene.

Finding elk in the water is always awesome. Finding an epic bull in the water is even better. But carrying a tree on his head at magic hour? Spectacular.

And those sounds of nature in the background… I live for these moments. I hope you enjoy the clip!

This bull is just so magnificent!!Morning after morning, I’m drawn to photograph him. He has been such a huge highlight ...
