Here’s a free crochet pattern for your Monday!! I sketched out this graph for how I do a checkered granny square and figured I’d share it with you, too!
If you love making granny squares but want to try something a little different and elevated, give this one a shot. I love making these because they work up quick and you can be so creative with your color schemes. They’re so cute to use on their own or to join together for apparel, decor, literally anything! This one will be the back of a pillow I’m making for my girls’ room💕🥰
Before you look at the graph and think “oh my gosh that’s complicated. I could never do that.” I PROMISE you that you can! If you know how to do a magic ring, chain, slip stitch, and double crochet, you’re over halfway there. Just start at the arrows and work your way around each row. Once you learn how to read these graphs, your life will change.
P.S.-if you don’t know how to (or you just don’t like to) do a magic ring, just start by chaining 3 or 4 and slip stitch back into the first chain. Then, use that circle as your ring to work your first row in!
Make your version with your own color palettes and tag me, I need some inspo!🫶🏽
