Update: The suspects in this case have been identified and charged as follows: 23-year-old Kody James Paz been arrested for Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, and Bias Crime in the First Degree. The second suspect is age 13 and has been charged with Assault in the Third Degree, and Bias Crime in the First Degree. (the suspect photos have been removed as one is a juvenile and they are no longer being sought)

At 11:43 p.m. on April 15, Eugene Police responded to an assault of a vulnerable Black male victim in his 40s near 2520 Willakenzie Road. The suspects had already left the scene.
The victim was out for his regular walk and was struck in the head and called a racial slur without provocation by a suspect wearing a dark colored hoodie and a baseball hat. This suspect is described as being in his 20s to 30s and of short height and a heavy build, brown curly afro-style hair, and last seen wearing dark colored hoodie and a baseball hat. There was a second suspect described as a short, thin, male, wearing a multi-colored hoodie with dark pants and shoes.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries by Eugene Springfield Fire.
