Lane County lost a true original this week with the passing of Chuck Kesey, co-founder of Springfield Creamery and the inventive spirit behind Nancy’s Yogurt. Alongside his wife, Sue, Chuck helped pioneer probiotic foods and built a family business that shaped how we think about healthy, community-rooted eating.

Known for his curiosity, kindness, and endless creativity, Chuck’s legacy lives on in every spoonful of Nancy’s and in the generations he inspired. Our hearts are with the Kesey and Thompson families, and all who carry on his work at Springfield Creamery. ❤️

This week in Lane County is buzzing with events that’ll pull you into the season’s shift—art, music, community gatherings and a dose of inspiration. Tonight, strap in for the spreading creative energy of First Friday Artwalk in downtown with the Lane Arts Council. On Saturday, the cheerful Holiday Bazaar at Campbell Community Center fills the room with support for local makers and thoughtful gift options. The ever-popular Picc‑A‑Dilly Flea Market opens its doors at the Lane County Fairgrounds on Sunday, offering treasure hunts, longtime vendor stories and eclectic finds. On Monday night, dive deeper into the world of mushrooms and ecology as Paul Stamets leads a talk at the McDonald Theatre on how a mycologist helps a community thrive. For the rest of the week, look for music, trivia nights, and social gatherings that keep the momentum going

We’ve moved! Eugene Magazine now calls the historic Market District home, perched above @
Sushi Pure in the Granary Building on 5th Street. Once home to the legendary jazz and blues club Feed Mill, the building still carries that creative energy and you can almost feel the music in the walls. From our windows, we hear the train and watch people head into 5th Street Public Market and the nearby shops. It’s an inspiring place to create and connect, surrounded by the energy of the businesses that make Eugene shine. We’re excited to be part of the neighborhood.

Just two hours from Portland lies Astoria — a cinematic‑steeped, salt‑air escape where you’ll climb the iconic Astoria Column for sweeping Columbia River views, wander the Victorian streets that played host to The Goonies, zip through a treetop canopy at High Life Adventures, and cap your days with waterfront dining and craft beer. In this town the past glows through present‑day thrills, making it more than a stop — an unforgettable getaway.

Mist drifts through Astoria’s tree-lined avenues as early sunlight glints off the river’s surface . Under the pale light of the Astoria Column, you can almost feel the echoes of The Goonies, or hear the laughter from arcade pinballs at Galactix. Steeped in cinematic history and salt-air adventur...
