Sloths used to be huge! Like elephant huge! At the University of Oregon Museum of Natural and Cultural History I got to meet Paramylodon. A genus of ground sloths that lived in North America about 4 million years ago.

Paramylodon went extinct maybe 11,000 years ago. Perhaps they couldn't adapt to Earth's changing climate. Or maybe early humans hunted them. We may never know.

So here's a dab in awe of our Old School Mammals!
