Fly Orr posted yesterday about it being the 30th anniversary of Frank Depression’s death… i remember back to 1996 - Frank had moved to NYC after living in San Francisco & the East Bay for a while, my band - the Masked Men - were his favorite new band, I had gotten to know Frank originally through trading zines - he lived in Boston originally, then I met up with him when he moved to San Francisco in 1994. I’ve always felt like Punk really shines when there is only one Punk & they are against everyone else - of course that is a hard/impossible way to live, but i still romanticize that level of alienation & combativeness that i could only pull off for a little while, but still rattles around in my brain to this day. Anyhow, I’d like to say another RIP Frank, glad to have known you.
