Staff spotlight: .mountain is our go-to for all things sports — and he brings more than just stats to the table. With a solid background in sports journalism and a true love for the game, his coverage goes beyond the basics to capture the heart of the action. He recently broke the story on a different angle of the LCC baseball field and continues to impress us with his sharp reporting and creative recaps. Big things are ahead — he’s well on his way to becoming our next Sports Editor.

“We will resist.”

At a Lane County town hall, Sen. Jeff Merkley warned that Donald Trump’s second term could threaten democracy, civil rights and the rule of law.

In a new press release, Merkley and Sen. Ron Wyden also condemned Trump’s transgender military service ban, calling it unconstitutional and a threat to national security.

“This is an extremely scary time,” Merkley said. “But we’re not giving up.”
