Happy National Park Week!!!
It's National Park Week and we are thrilled to share it with you! Come enjoy the free programs and activities offered at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice to celebrate this week with us.
📅Tuesday, August 25
1 - 2 pm - Candle Making - Come try your hand at candle making and learn about the lights of Louisiana.
📅Thursday, August 27
5 - 5:30 pm - Ranger Recipes - The rangers are working on something special for National Park Week, come by to taste the results!
5:30 - 6:30 pm - Rendezvous in the Prairie ft. Le Nouveau Zydeco - Rendezvous in the Prairie is a live acoustic performance filled with great stories, friendly faces, and fantastic tunes. Enjoy this free live music twice a week at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center.
📅Friday, August 28
10 - 11 am - Louisiana Tea & Coffee - These beloved beverages are famous around the world and Louisiana has definitely left it's signature on them. Come get a taste of some signature flavors and learn about a few from the past as well.
📅Saturday, August 29
10 - 11 am - National Park Week March into Reading - This story hour shares fun tales and recommends titles to add to your reading list!
11 - 1 pm - Hurricanes of the Past - Ranger Talk and Candle Making - Storms have influenced the culture of southern Louisiana not only through damage but also through art, economics, architecture and more. Come to this ranger talk and candle making hour to learn more.
1:30 - 2:30 - Cooking Demonstration - Cooks, volunteers, and rangers all take to the range in the demonstration kitchen! Delicious recipes that give you a taste of tradition are cooking every Saturday at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center.👩🍳
3 - 4 pm - Rendezvous in the Prairie ft. Les frères Joubert, Gérasime et Jean-Henri
📅Tuesday - Saturday: Gallery Exhibit 🎨
My Louisiana by Cassidy Breaux - In this series of paintings, Breaux depicts the relationship the people of southern Louisiana have with the surrounding waterways and landscape. His use of strong colors reflect the vibrant life of the marshes and swamps.
