I would like to announce my candidacy for Chancery Clerk of Webster County. The Lord has blessed me by allowing me to work as a Certified Public Accountant at Watkins, Ward, and Stafford in Webster County for the last 16 years. I truly believe that this experience has given me the skills and knowledge necessary to competently step into the role of Chancery Clerk. I have over 20 years of governmental accounting experience, auditing both city and county governments. During these years, I have worked closely with the Chancery Clerk of each county that I have audited.
Two of the main duties of the Chancery Clerk are to serve as the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and to serve as the County Auditor and Treasurer. My experience with county audits has given me the knowledge and skills necessary to step into the position of Chancery Clerk and be prepared from day one to give the Board of Supervisors reliable information necessary to make important financial decisions to run our County. These skills are crucial to the position of Chancery Clerk.
For those of you who know me already, you know that I am a people person. For those of you that don’t know me, I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible over the next few months. I humbly ask for your vote. Webster County deserves a Chancery Clerk with the right experience for the job!
