Timberlane Films Begins Production on Capturing Bigfoot – Patterson’s Redemption 🎬🌲
Been a long road getting projects like this off the ground, so it feels pretty surreal finally filming scenes this week for Capturing Bigfoot – Patterson’s Redemption with friends, local actors, Access Humboldt members, and volunteers out in the redwoods of Humboldt County.
The film was selected by Access Humboldt to be featured in the 2026 Boldfest showcase at the historic Eureka Theater later this year.
Inspired by the legendary 1967 Bluff Creek Bigfoot footage captured by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin, the story imagines a modern-day continuation of the mystery. Roger Patterson’s fictional son, Buck Patterson, is determined to restore his father’s legacy by capturing a Bigfoot family rumored to be hiding deep within Humboldt County. Unknown to him, the creatures are secretly being protected by the Timberlane Brothers, Jake and Randy.
In this week’s scenes, Buck teams up with a fictional Eureka-based biker gang called Iron Fist, led by the hard-edged “Red Dog,” to track the creatures using infrared drones near the Timberlane Ranch. When tensions erupt between the gang and the Timberlane Brothers, the confrontation ends with Buck vowing to return with more men and equipment to capture the creatures “dead or alive.”
Local talent anchors the production, with Jim Wright starring as Buck Patterson and comedian Jason Merritt portraying Red Dog. Seamus Kistner serves as director of cinematography, while Eliza Moore contributes both as publicist and cast member. Additional filming is planned throughout the summer.
Really grateful to everyone helping bring these strange little North Coast stories to life. Filming continues throughout the summer and into early fall across the beautiful counties of Humboldt and Del Norte. Capturing Bigfoot – Patterson’s Redemption is currently expected to be released in Winter 2026. 🎬🌲
