The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Northern Elk County in southeastern Kansas...
Southern Greenwood County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 713 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Severy, or 11
miles north of Howard, moving east-southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Howard, Severy, Fall River, Climax, Beaumont, Fall River Lake,
Piedmont, and Fall River State Park.


Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Later tonight into the overnight hours, a line of storms is forecast to move eastward off the High Plains. While up to 50-60 mph winds are possible as far south as Wichita and Chanute, the best potential for over 70 mph wind gusts will be along I-70 closer to midnight. Be sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings and weather information.
