We had the best time at the 2nd meet up run by .archive saw a lot of friends, heard a lot of great presentations and saw a lot of tattoo antiques. There will be another one next year. 🌹Although Leonard “Stoney” St. Clair’s name is universally known amongst the tattoo artist, little of Stoney’s flash had been published or seen until a few years ago. Columbus Tattooer was able to acquire over 30 years of Stoney’s flash and effects. Stoney uniquely wrote the date and location of each painting on the back (as well as when he would touch up or add to a painting). Volume 2 contains hundreds of flash sheets of Stoney’s beautifully hand painted flash from early to mid 1970s, from his time in Columbus Ohio.

This set of flash is from Milton Zeis. But was all redrawn from waters production flash. It’s some of the coolest flash in existence we got super lucky and got the whole set! One day it will all be a in a book! For the time being here’s some really cool designs you can just “steal” and tattoo. The lady head, rose and snake combo can’t be beat. www.royalartbooks.com
