Tonight at 10:30pm I’m hosting Dead Electric on KSER! I’m filling in for the great David Haldeman while he takes a well-deserved vacation.

Dead Electric is America’s only radio program dedicated to showcasing vintage synth, space, and new age music from the 70s and 80s. My friends and listeners to Convergence Zone will not be surprised that I’m extremely stoked to host the show.

David is one of my favorite hosts and music curators; he’s filled in before on Convergence Zone and I’m honored to return the favor on one of my favorite radio programs in the world.

Join me tonight - live from the KSER studios - at 10:30pm on 90.7 and 89.9 KSER-FM, streaming around the world at KSER.org, and on smart speakers and radio apps everywhere.

MUSIC SHOULD SOUND GREEN

It’s week two of the KSER Spring Membership Campaign! I’ll be live in-studio on Tuesday, March 24 - joined by my friend and colleague MichaelG to ask for your financial support to power Convergence Zone and KSER 90.7 FM.

For my fund drive special episode, I’ll be playing sets curated by local artists Mt Fog! Their new album “Every Stone is Green” just dropped on March 13, and they are marking the occasion with a bespoke selection of music across new age, jazz, art pop, shoegaze, and more. Each song evokes a shade of green in honor of their latest LP and the quest for happiness and mycellial connection.

Join me at 8:30pm Pacific on Tuesday, March 24! You can call in your pledge during the show, or make your donation at KSER.org.

Convergence Zone arrives Tuesdays at 8:30pm on 90.7 and 89.9 KSER-FM, streaming around the world at KSER.org and your smart speaker or radio apps.

This week on Convergence Zone, I’m preparing a special program for our 2025 Fall Fund Drive - celebrating the history of ARP Instruments.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alan R. Pearlman - founder of ARP Instruments. ARP’s synthesizers play a crucial role throughout the history of electronic music; iconic instruments like the ARP 2600, the Odyssey, and the Solina String Ensemble can be heard in every genre of music from the 1970s through today.

On Tuesday, October 21st, I’ll ask for your financial support to power KSER and keep shows like Convergence Zone on the air. Every song will feature ARP synthesizers! I’ll play artists you’d expect to hear on Convergence Zone, like Jean-Michel Jarre, Lisa Bella Donna, Steve Roach and Éliane Radigue - along with music from genres ranging from synth-pop, fusion, and funk from through 1970s through today. I’ll try to work in every avatar of Vince Clarke too!

Join me and my friend and co-host Michael G on Tuesday, October 21st at 8:30pm - you can call in your pledge or submit it online, and we’ll take a tour through the history of ARP Instruments together.

Tuesday, October 21st, 8:30pm-10:30pm - 90.7 KSER, 89.9 KXIR, streaming around the world at kser.org, or on smart speakers or TuneIn.

The ancient festivals of Lúnasa and Lammas take place this week, commemorating the forthcoming harvest - a time for ritual play, hand-fasting, and feasts. In the Pacific Northwest, events such as the PNW Witches’ Market festival for Lammas and Lughnasadh and the Washington Midsummer Renaissance Festival mark the occasion - along with live shows from regional artists.

This week, Convergence Zone embraces upcoming live shows with new dark tides by Other, Arkham Sunset, Bridal Veil, ACTORS, and The Discussion

I’ll also have ambient and space music for summer by Patricia Wolf, Pulse Emitter, Brian Eno and Beatie Wolfe, DTime, and Arkham Sunset (a twofer!)

The KSER Summer Membership Drive is on! Tonight on Convergence Zone, I’ll be joined live in the booth by Michael Svob, long-time KSER supporter and new co-host for Convergence Zone. You may have already heard him on the air - he’s hosting the show on alternating weeks, and I’m thrilled to have his musical taste and on-air presence helping make this program vibrant week after week.

We’re celebrating the 2025 Cascadia NW Arts and Music Festival, taking place this weekend at Darrington Music Park. The event runs from Friday, June 20 at 1pm until Sunday, June 22 and 8pm in Darrington, WA - with live music, vinyl DJ sets, camping, and sessions on medication, community building, and non-violent communication.

We’ll include music from some artists who will perform at the festival, including Seattle’s own Future Spells, along with tunes by Enigma Beats, A Hundred Drums, Seeded Vision, and Sappho.

We’ll be asking for your support to help make Convergence Zone and all the other KSER programming possible! You can give now by going to https://kser.org, clicking on the Summer Membership Drive button - and don’t forget to mention Convergence Zone in your comments.

Convergence Zone - now at 8:30pm PT on 90.7 KSER-FM, 89.9 KXIR-FM, and streaming live around the world at https://kser.org.

I’m back in the studio tonight for Convergence Zone - exploring the ranges of grief. There’s a lot of pain and fear in the world right now and also in my heart. I’ve shrunk from the outlets that bring me joy and healing - live music, friends, this program, even family - and I need to claw my way back to the light.

Music for darkness and grief, and the search for hope and light. Including brand new music that just dropped today from Hello Meteor

If you’re up for it, join me tonight at 8:30pm PT on 90.7 KSER, 89.9 KXIR - streaming around the globe at kser.org and on your smart speaker
