Good news for Everett
We are relieved to report that water levels on the portion of the Snohomish River that flows through Everett have started to recede this evening. Current forecasts show that the water level will continue to drop, leaving the active flood stage sometime early Saturday morning. Crews will be out inspecting levees, bridges and other infrastructure to check for signs of damage as the water recedes.
The City is transitioning the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) from a 24/7 in-person activation to virtual monitoring as Public Works response needs shift. We remain in close coordination with Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management (DEM) to actively monitor weather conditions and other potential flooding impacts.
At this time, no evacuation orders are in place for Everett.
If you experience or witness any water, sewer, or other storm-related issues, please report them to the City of Everett’s 24-hour dispatch at 425-257-8821.
As a reminder, flooding conditions can change quickly. Unforeseen issues - such as debris damming or overtopping of a levee or d**e - could alter conditions with little notice. The increased volume and speed of water also means stronger river currents, even where water levels appear stable.
The Animal Shelter, Rotary Park and Langus Riverfront Park remain closed. Lowell River Road remains closed at Rotary Park.
