At first look it appears Everett, Washington fared pretty well overnight with minor damage reported. Looks like the awning in front of Sisters took a hit and a tree down at 23rd and Hoyt. There were reports of minor wind damage on Rucker Hill and some power outages but overall is looking okay this morning. Feel free to share if you have updates in Everett.

FYI Tonight

We know the past week has been incredibly difficult for many across Washington, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by the recent flooding. Music has a powerful way of bringing people together, strengthening our connection as a community, and offering moments of comfort during challenging times. We wanted to share that the Navy Band Northwest holiday concert is still scheduled to take place at the Everett Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. If you are able to attend safely, we would be honored to see you.

FYI

Yesterday in a federal courthouse, a 55-year-old Everett man was sentenced to five years in federal prison after he plead guilty to unlawful possession of a destructive device; unlawful possession of ammunition; and unlawful possession of a firearm. This sentence stems from an incident in December of 2024 in which the suspect initiated an explosion in a car parked at an Everett apartment complex.
This case comes to a close thanks to thorough investigating by the Everett Police Department Property Crimes detectives and Bomb Squad officers, as well as effective cooperation with the Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms, and Explosives (ATF), and the FBI.
Everett Police Chief John DeRousse added, “The violence and hatred behind this crime had no place in Everett, and our detectives worked closely with our federal partners to ensure a thorough investigation and a strong case”

A tree has come down onto a house in the 1400 block of Rainier. Hearing reports of trees coming down in other spots in the City as well. So far no injuries reported but it is expected to be a busy afternoon for power crews and first responders. We put up links to the PUD Outage Center and the National Weather Service Wind Watch on our website. https://seenineverett.com/monday-windstorm-causing-havoc-in-everett-washington/

No word yet on how or why it ended up in the muddy water but has been towed out.

Good news for Everett

Good news for Everett

We are relieved to report that water levels on the portion of the Snohomish River that flows through Everett have started to recede this evening. Current forecasts show that the water level will continue to drop, leaving the active flood stage sometime early Saturday morning. Crews will be out inspecting levees, bridges and other infrastructure to check for signs of damage as the water recedes.

The City is transitioning the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) from a 24/7 in-person activation to virtual monitoring as Public Works response needs shift. We remain in close coordination with Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management (DEM) to actively monitor weather conditions and other potential flooding impacts.

At this time, no evacuation orders are in place for Everett.

If you experience or witness any water, sewer, or other storm-related issues, please report them to the City of Everett’s 24-hour dispatch at 425-257-8821.

As a reminder, flooding conditions can change quickly. Unforeseen issues - such as debris damming or overtopping of a levee or d**e - could alter conditions with little notice. The increased volume and speed of water also means stronger river currents, even where water levels appear stable.

The Animal Shelter, Rotary Park and Langus Riverfront Park remain closed. Lowell River Road remains closed at Rotary Park.
