On the eve of Mother’s Day, an elk cow and her unborn calf were killed on CO-74.

Here in Evergreen, these animals are not just “wildlife.” They are part of our daily lives — in our yards, along our roads, by the lake, and throughout the foothills we call home.

And this is also a plea for the lives of the deer, squirrels, foxes, bears, and every wild creature trying to cross safely through the place we all share.

Please slow down, especially on 74 — at dawn, dusk, and through the curves. One moment of patience can save a life.

We share this mountain town with them.Drive like their lives matter — because they do. 💛
