MUFI HANNEMANN’S COUSIN QUITS TOP GOP POST AFTER JUST FIVE MONTHS: After months of inaction and constant rumblings about infighting on "Team Art's" leadership slate of officers at the Hawaii GOP, Art Hannemann has today thrown in the towel as state chair. His resignation letter merely hints at the dysfunction and turf wars which have raged since Hannemann’s “unity ticket” took over the Hawaii GOP in late May 2025: “I want to ask that we stop wasting energy on minor party differences . . . This is not the time for division or distraction. Every moment spent on internal disputes only helps the Democrats.” Reportedly driven out by his vice chair (and failed former past chair) “Big Shirl” Ostrov, the question now is WHO will the party pick to replace Hannemann (and will it even matter)?
