Meet Princess and Bette Davis, our TONKA Living Pets of the Month!

We’re Princess and Bette Davis, two proud rescue cats living our best lives on Lake Minnetonka. And I’m Princess. I may be a little shy at first, but don’t be fooled. Once I’m comfortable, I settle into my sunny spots and purr like the royalty I am.

And I’m Bette Davis—yes, like the song. I run the house, claim all the laps, and make sure everyone knows when I need attention (which is often).

As summer returns to Lake Minnetonka, so does the memory of one of its most beloved icons — Steamboat Minnehaha 🚢

This May marks the 120th anniversary of Minnehaha’s launch in Excelsior on May 2, 1906. Built alongside her five sister steamers, Minnehaha quickly became part of the heartbeat of Lake Minnetonka, ferrying thousands of passengers across the water each year.

At their peak, the streetcar boats serviced 26 lake stops and carried nearly 200,000 passengers annually — connecting communities and creating memories that still live on today.

After being sunk near Big Island in 1926, Minnehaha was dramatically raised from the lake bottom in 1980 and lovingly restored before returning to service from 1996–2019. Thanks to that incredible preservation effort, her story continues to inspire generations of lake lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

Happy 120th birthday to a true Lake Minnetonka legend 💙

For many moms, the best Mother’s Day gift isn’t flowers or breakfast in bed — it’s time. Time to laugh, recharge, connect, and simply enjoy life outside of the daily routine. 💛

That belief is exactly what inspired Molly Cardinal to create Running Errands, a women’s social club designed to help women build friendships and make space for themselves without pressure or expectations.

From Mahjong nights and Puppy Yoga to 90s roller skating parties, Molly creates events where women can simply show up, have fun, and connect. As she says, it’s like “being invited to your best friend’s party, but you just haven’t met her yet.”

As a mom of two energetic daughters, Indie and Siena, Molly understands firsthand how important it is to fill your own cup so you can give your best back to your family. Between motherhood, real estate, community involvement, and family adventures, she still makes connection a priority.

Molly and her husband Boston have built a life centered around experiences, adventure, and community in Cottagewood, Deephaven — raising their girls with the motto: “AFA, Activities First Always.” ✨

Because friendship, laughter, and community aren’t extras in life — they’re essential.

🌳 Minnesota homeowners: your trees just survived another brutal winter — now is the time to check for hidden damage before summer storms arrive.

As snow melts and spring cleanup begins, don’t forget the biggest investment in your yard: your mature trees.

Here are 3 major things to watch for this spring 👇

⚠️ Oak Wilt AwarenessIf you have Burr or Red Oaks, avoid pruning until late fall. Fresh cuts attract beetles that spread Oak Wilt — a disease capable of wiping out entire neighborhoods of trees.

🪵 Emerald Ash Borer (EAB)EAB is now widespread across central Minnesota. Watch for:• Thinning at the top of ash trees• “Blonde” bark patches from woodpecker activityThese are often early warning signs of infestation.

❄️ Structural Stress DamageHeavy snow and freeze-thaw cycles can create hidden internal cracks in Silver Maples and Elms. These weaknesses may not be visible until a major branch fails during a summer storm.

🌱 Quick Spring Tree Care TipSnow piles compact soil around roots. Help trees recover by adding 2–3 inches of organic mulch around the base — but keep mulch away from the trunk.

👀 Why Professional Inspections MatterMany dangerous structural issues aren’t visible from the ground. A spring inspection can help prevent costly emergency removals and keep your property safe heading into storm season.

Your trees are part of your property’s legacy. A little attention this spring can protect their beauty, shade, and value for decades to come.

A healthy smile is about more than appearance — it’s about comfort, confidence, and quality of life. 🦷✨

When a tooth begins to fail due to fracture, decay, or infection, the effects can go far beyond tooth pain. Difficulty chewing, chronic discomfort, and concerns about long-term oral health can quickly impact daily life.

Dental implants have become one of the most trusted and life-changing solutions in modern dentistry because they do more than simply replace a missing tooth — they restore function, stability, and confidence.

Unlike traditional options, implants replace both the root and crown of the tooth, creating a strong, natural-feeling foundation designed to look, feel, and function like your own teeth.

Removing a failing or infected tooth and replacing it with a dental implant can also help protect overall oral health by eliminating chronic infection and preserving surrounding bone and teeth.

Patients often notice one of the biggest improvements in the simple moments: eating comfortably again, enjoying healthy foods without pain, smiling confidently in photos, and speaking without hesitation.

A restored smile can truly change the way someone feels every single day.

Dental implants are more than a cosmetic solution — they’re an investment in long-term health, confidence, and living life fully. 🤍

There’s nothing quite like the freedom of riding a motorcycle. 🏍️ But with that freedom comes risk — and many riders don’t realize their motorcycle insurance coverage may be very different from their automobile policy until it’s too late.

One of the most common issues injured riders face after an accident is discovering they didn’t fully understand their policy coverage. Many motorcycle policies are written separately, may not include the same protections as auto insurance, and can significantly impact what compensation is available after a crash.

That’s why it’s so important to review and understand your insurance coverage BEFORE an accident happens.

Attorney Cole Dixon has extensive experience representing injured motorcycle riders and handling all aspects of personal injury litigation, including motorcycle crashes, car and truck accidents, and liability cases throughout Minnesota, Iowa, and South Dakota.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a motorcycle accident, a case evaluation is available at no cost.
