Did you know Minnetonka has a hockey cheerleading team? ⛸️🏒

Meet the Ice Skippers . A group of figure skaters bringing school spirit, choreography, and serious skating skills to Minnetonka HS hockey games.

Started by students in 2025, the team is giving figure skaters something they don’t always get in their sport: a team atmosphere and a chance to be part of the game-day energy. From cheering at the state championship to growing one of Minnesota’s newest high school sports, the Ice Skippers are quickly becoming a fan favorite.

“It’s a really cool opportunity that many schools don’t have,” says Ice Skippers’ Coach Logan Mahoney. “It’s been fun to see the fanbase grow.”

So, win, lose, or draw, fans can expect to see the smiling faces of hockey cheerleaders at Minnetonka hockey games this year as the Ice Skippers enter their second season.

Mother’s Day is the perfect occasion to treat Mom to a special homemade breakfast, and nothing says “I love you” like a plate of warm, fluffy Belgian waffles.🧇This recipe is simple and delicious and Mom will appreciate sleeping in and waking up to a decadent breakfast in bed.

✨Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, separated
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks, then mix in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract
3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed
4. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter
5. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it. Pour in enough batter to cover the surface and cook until golden brown and crisp
6. Top with fresh berries, whipped cream, and a drizzle of maple syrup or chocolate sauce. Pair with a hot coffee or fresh orange juice

You know that Lake Minnetonka property you can’t stop thinking about? This is that house.🏡

We step inside this unique Lake Minnetonka home, where Japanese-inspired architecture and historic charm meet to create one rare waterfront gem.

Its pagoda-style boathouse was finished two years after the main home and upgraded most recently when the current owners bought it in 1991 — this marks the first time in 35 years the property has been for sale!

At three levels, the boathouse has everything you’ll need to enjoy a summer night on Lake Minnetonka. The third level is a beautiful screened-in porch that overlooks the water. The second level features a living room with a large wood-burning fireplace, and the bottom floor features a lakeside deck that leads directly out onto the dock. Here, you will also find abundant lakeside storage, a changing room, and mechanicals.

And on Lake Minnetonka, where new boathouses can’t be built, this home stands in a category of its own.

“This is an early 1900s structure that is grandfathered in that couldn’t be replicated today. It is arguably the most iconic, recognizable boathouse on Lake Minnetonka,” says listing agent and Lake Minnetonka specialist Scott Stabeck at Coldwell Banker in Wayzata.
