The richest man in the world says there is no use saving for retirement because the AI makes such plans a waste of time.

Your Child Will Not Have A Job When He Grows Up

The great majority of school age children below the age of 16 will never enter the adult labor market full time if AI driven automation continues. Setting aside for the moment the possibility of divine intervention or of the singularity, there are only two ways AI automation does not end the human labor-based economy we all take for granted: major nuclear wars around the world, or a worldwide ban on robots. It is quite possible at this point that there will be a major war between China and Russia (the Eastern Bloc) and the U.S. that would set back the AI programs of these countries, but it is unlikely to eliminate or even greatly slow down the automation of all human labor.

To the extent the world survives at all in the next few years, we are looking at not millions of robots around the world, but billions. Robots will replace humans in the industrialized world very quickly, and everywhere else a couple of years later at the most, assuming there is not tremendous disruption to present trends by worldwide war.

In 1915 there were around 3 million cars and trucks in the world. Twenty years later in 1935, there were over 35 million. This is very fast growth, but robots will increase even faster because they are so economically useful, they are smaller and use much less material than cars, and because for many types of robots, robots will be able to build new robots, working day and night. Robots building robots changes everything as far as speed and cost go. The actual cost of robots will decrease in the next few years while their capabilities increase to human levels and beyond very quickly.

Robots that can do most of what a human can do (by the beginning of next year) or do more than what a human can do (by end of 2027) are too valuable commercially for businesses not to use once they become available. There will be an explosion of robots in every line of work. They will first take entry-level jobs that might have been available to young high school graduates, but they will rapidly reduce the ranks of more experienced workers as well.

Older economists who do not understand what is coming will say, "But there will be new jobs created to design, build, and service these robots!" This is what has always happened in the past. When trucks took the jobs of wagon drivers, there were new jobs in the truck factories, new jobs driving trucks, and new jobs servicing trucks. But everything is different now, because of AI. A few human engineers and programmers, assisted by AI, are able to vastly speed up the design and development of robots. Robots will be able (are already able) to build robots, and if a robot can build a robot, it can repair a robot as well as human repair person. Robot automation does not open great new employment opportunities for humans. Yes, there will be new industries created, but it would be economic su***de for any business to refuse to use robots in their new factories: robots work for pennies compared to the cost of paying humans.

All human jobs will not disappear instantly from our perspective (from a historical perspective it does happen in the blink of an eye), but entry-level positions for humans will disappear as fast as human-equivalent robots can be manufactured. And that will be very fast, because all the robot companies are eagerly looking forward to putting their own robots on the production line just as soon as they can. Robots are not quite smart enough yet for the real world, but they are growing smarter right now about three times faster than children grow up. In other words, one year of robotics development equals three years of human development time. A robot with the real-world intelligence of a three-year-old this year will have the understanding of the world of about a six-year-old in a year. Not the knowledge of a six-year-old (it already far surpasses the child in that), but the real-world ability to navigate the world and do useful physical work.

AI and robot development accelerates faster and faster every year. By the end of next year (2027), the robots will have advanced at least four human years in one calendar year. In other words, they will start the year with the intelligence of a six-year-old and end the year with the real-world intelligence of a ten-year-old. Essentially, they will be able to do pretty much anything a human can do. They won't stop there. Robot hands have already been developed that are faster and stronger than a human hand. Their fingers, for example, can spin a nut onto a bolt much faster than a human. Some robots are already stronger than humans. Some can do highly delicate precision assembly work. All of them can work day and night, 365 days a year, with no vacations, no holidays, and no complaints. It is not hard to see why companies will love their low-cost, highly productive robot labor force.

But as far as today's children under 16 go (and even college-age young people as well, to a large extent), there will be no jobs available for most of them. And there will be no chance for a career for any young person in the way we understand careers today. When AI and robots can do anything humans can do and do it better and cheaper, what use is there for human workers? In the real economy, no need at all.

What will people do when there is nothing productive for them to do? Whatever they want to do and can afford to do on their universal basic welfare payments. This brings us to the point of all this. In the past, education was an important part of qualifying yourself for a productive role in society. That purpose today is dead. The traditional curriculum is designed for a world that will shortly not exist. At the same time, it is almost completely deficient in teaching the life skills that would be of great benefit to young people who will never be productive citizens in the traditional sense.

The current emphasis in most subjects for most children needs to be either reduced or eliminated. Instead of our present emphasis, children need training that develops emotional intelligence, self-control, and self-management, along with critical thinking, courteous conduct, empathy for others, a sound grasp of history and civics, and the full development of their physical abilities. They also need to learn how to use AI as a tool for exploring subjects that genuinely interest them, along with education in practical matters. In the words of Robert Heinlein, "A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly."

Schools will not, of course, change their age-old methods and subjects of teaching, but individual parents who care about their children's future can take steps on their own in this direction. Children under 16, and indeed all young adults, are not going to enter the same work world we know today. If a world roughly similar to our own exists at all in four or five years, it will be a world where all human labor has been automated or is in the process of quickly being automated. Your children don't need to learn to be good company employees, because they will never get that chance, but they and their country will benefit immensely from their learning to be good human beings.

Do We Bring Credit To The Truth By Exhibiting The Image Of God In Our Own Life As Much As Possible?

"Created to be "the image and glory of God," Adam and Eve had received endowments not unworthy of their high destiny. Graceful and symmetrical in form, regular and beautiful in feature, their countenances glowing with the tint of health and the light of joy and hope, they bore in outward resemblance the likeness of their Maker." ML 126

It’s Time To Shape Up Brethren!

If we are truly called to be Vanguard Davidians, we will be moving steadily toward the Edenic standard. We will not just talk like "health reformers" WE WILL LOOK LIKE PRACTICING HEALTH REFORMERS.

We do not do justice to the true image of God when we are overweight. And we actively harm the health reform work when overweight Davidians talk about health. It is time and past time for every Davidian, within the constraints of their age and health, to be and be seen to be paragons of fitness. We all need to reach our ideal body weight and maintain it.

GLP-1 drugs work. For most Davidians right now, willpower and similar approaches simply don't. Davidians are practical. We do what it takes. We don't make excuses or say "I am going to lose the weight pretty soon with this new diet." If you need to lose weight, you probably already tried that and it didn’t work. And a new diet is unlikely to work for you as well. Davidian don't believe falling for our own excuses. If you haven't reached your weight goal or even come close in past years, you are not likely to lose weight on your own. That is reality as it is, not as we would like to imagine it. A Davidian is strong enough to deal with reality without curling up into a little ball and feeling bad or having to constantly deceive themselves with new pipe dreams of losing weight “naturally.” If you didn’t do it already, you are not going to do it on your own.

GLP-1 drugs are similar to hormone replacement in that there can be some serious side effects for a small number of people, but overall they have a positive impact on health. It is important to understand this. There is, over all, more health benefits for most people than drawbacks. This is the bottom line. People don’t like negative side effects. People don’t like pain or discomfort. Drugs that are over all good for us (when needed) but have some uncomfortable or hurtful side effects cause many natural minded people and “health reform” type people to become very self-righteous in their denunciations of the drug. When the drug delivers more benefit and harm, this kind of opposition is indicative of poor critical thinking, a trait that is fundamentally incompatible with being a real Davidian.

Yes, the side effects are real for many people, but there are things that can be done to greatly reduce them. And while having some negative side effects, GLP-1 drugs have many unexpected positive health benefits. For example, they show strong potential to reduce alcohol consumption and cravings among people with an alcohol problem.

There are two main side effects from GLP-1 drugs that we need to be concerned about. The first is gastrointestinal issues, sometimes serious. GLP-1 use can alter the gut microbiome negatively and slow gut transit time. There are very good interventions to minimize or prevent this.

The first is to use a good psyllium fiber blend combining powdered psyllium and whole husk flakes. Start cautiously with half a teaspoon and gradually increase by half a teaspoon every couple of days until you reach two to three teaspoons twice a day. Also take inulin/FOS at the same time, starting at a quarter teaspoon and increasing to around half a teaspoon twice a day. This provides a high-quality mix of insoluble and soluble prebiotic fiber. Taking it twice a day is necessary to keep your microbiome healthy around the clock.

Monitor your elimination. Do not allow yourself to go more than a day without a bowel movement, and make sure elimination stays balanced with food intake. People run into trouble in this area because they don't take enough quality fiber and don't pay attention to keeping intake and elimination in balance. If your body is naturally handling everything correctly, that is ideal, but there is no excuse for carelessly allowing yourself to get into trouble because gut transit time has slowed and you couldn't be bothered to notice and take corrective action. Keeping your microbiome healthy with a good fiber supplement and inulin/FOS is the single best preventive measure, but if a problem does develop, occasional Senna tablets, alone or with a stool softener, will in most cases help greatly. These interventions, used as needed, will greatly reduce your chances of severe problems.

The second problem is muscle loss, a known negative side effect. There are three things Davidians must do to prevent this. The first is to maintain adequate protein intake. Whey protein concentrate or isolate are among the best and lowest-calorie protein supplements available. For vegetarians losing weight with GLP-1 drugs, protein supplementation is mandatory. Second, it is necessary to do both heavy resistance exercise and aerobic exercise to stimulate all your muscles as much as possible to partly counteract the muscle loss caused by GLP-1 drugs. This is not optional.

Failing to take extra protein and exercise as hard as you can will often result in excessive muscle loss, which is unhealthy and unacceptable for a Davidian. Third, GLP-1 drugs are known to reduce the activity of mitochondria in muscle cells, resulting in muscle loss. It may be possible to prevent this with 300 mg of CoQ10 and 20 mg of PQQ daily. It is worth trying in the interest of safety and overall effectiveness.

A final known problem with GLP-1 drugs is that once people stop using them, they often regain the weight they lost. Keeping as much of our body weight in muscle is one way to mitigate this issue. There are several other solutions to this that we will discuss in the future if necessary.

Question:
I would like clarification on Brother Trevor's presentation "What we need today is bound up present truth." Some are coming to a conclusion that we are not to read the SRod books again only the bound up. Is this what Brother Trevor's presentation is saying?

Answer:

There are many precious truths contained in the Word of God, but it is "present truth" that the flock needs now. EW 63 The Bible, Spirit of Prophecy and Rod have much truth, but is important to us right now is the very present truth. The Lord tells us why:
“*What the world needs today is to know what they must do to be saved.* There are many interesting and pleasing discourses given that the speaker counts the very height of success, but they are not thus registered by Him…who weighs such discourses in the balances … and pronounces them wanting.” RH, February 22, 1887 par. 10

What is needed by everyone in the world, including Davidians, Adventists and people who are still in the world is the practical understanding of how to live the God centered life we must live in order to be saved. To succeed, we need step by step instruction in living a righteous life. Righteous means right doing. We must learn what God wants us to do today, not yesterday, and then we must do it if we are to be saved. The present truth we need today will help us to cease being “half-hearted, unsystematic, and thus unscientific” in our approach to our religion and instead, help us become wholehearted, systematic and scientific in the “imperative work of exchanging wrong ideas and theories, habits and practices, for right ones…”8SC1-12:11 This is the all essential present truth for today.

There are many important truths stored in the writings of the Spirit of Prophecy, that is, the inspired writings of BOTH Brother Houteff and Sister White. The Rod explains how God uses a “perfect system” based on the symbolism of Zechariah 4 to produce, store and distribute this truth as it is needed. The “precious truth” from the Bible (the two olive trees) are transmitted by the two golden pipes to the Golden bowl. All of the Bible is inspired of God, but not all of the Bible is equally timely truth for us today. God’s perfect system is His way of selecting the exact truth we need at the present time. For example, neither the message of Jonah (past and future) or the message of Noah (past) are present truth today. God’s perfect system can point out not only what is present truth, but what is not timely truth for us today. For example, the Rod tells us that “the old message… is out of date as is the message of Noah's flood….”2TG 30:18 By “old message,” Brother Houteff means that “…the "Judgment for the Dead, (for the proclamation of which the Seventh-day Adventist Denomination was specifically called forth), is now out of date as is the message of Noah's flood….” JL 9:4 We do not repudiate “out of date” doctrines that are not present truth today. They are still just a much truth as they ever were. But we are called to emphasize present truth today, for that is what the flock needs.

God wants us to have the truth we need today to become the kind of people He can use to be “saviors.” It is not enough to have the truth of yesterday; it is necessary to have special meat in due season. The Lord knows what we need to develop the character of Christ in a way that the world has never seen in a people as a whole since time begun. The problem is that from the beginning people have tended to reject the present truth in favor of past truth. Over and over in history, this is what has happened. But now time is almost over for us. God’s true people will not “follow the examples of the Jews and the Romans” (Answerer2:80) in rejecting present truth. Those who oppose are not God’s people. "Opposition is the lot of all whom God employs to present truths specially applicable to their time. There was a present truth in the days of Luther, -- a truth at that time of special importance; there is a present truth for the church today." *"Different periods in the history of the church* have each been marked by the development of some special truth, *adapted to the necessities of God's people at that time*…. The Lord gives a special truth for the people in an emergency.” Tract 7:64 As we head into the most critical period in earth’s history, we do in fact need *special, emergency present truth* if we are to almost overnight become the people God wants and needs us to be.

The present truth the people of God need today is not a new message, but truth already embedded in writings in the golden bowl that is specially adapted to our needs today. The Lord may have had much written on a particular subject or only the bare outlines. In either case, He is able to bring out all the necessary present truth on the subject He wants us to have when it is time. He does this through His perfect system by having either the two pipes to write voluminously on the subject, or by having the seven pipes expand largely on the already given outline of truth. The Lord uses either method to bring needed present truth. As an example, the Lord had Brother Houteff write a great deal on Carmel, but very little, past the bare outline, on Bashan. Instead, the details of that truth were bound up by the porter and the appointed shepherds, the seven tubes. There are many other precious truths in the bowl to distribute at the right time, some like the truth of Carmel which is both outlined and written up in great detail, and some like the truth of Bashan, which was outlined in the Rod, but bound up in greater detail by the porter and the seven tubes.

God sees the future as clearly as He sees the past and present. He has always known what we need for this time and He has given us all the truth in the final message we will need until the Kingdom. The Lord has created an exclusive two-step process of first decoding (interpreting) the hidden prophecies of the Bible into the writings of the Spirit of Prophecy and secondly, of restricting the distribution of the needed present truth exclusively to His own channel of “actually inspired” teachers (ministers), thus allowing Him to deliver the precise truth needed at the time it is needed. Satan understands this system, and tries to disrupt it by encouraging members (lamps) to go directly to the bowl or the two olive trees.

The Rod teaches that the prophecy of Zechariah 4 describes a “…perfect system of preparing, and dispensing the Word of God, "meat in due season," to His people…” 1TG14:22 The Lord further tells us that “the system of Bible interpretation, described by Zechariah, is the Lord's only system.” 1TG14:23 Under God’s “only system” today, the lamps receive their oil from the seven tubes (the ministry) while the ministry in turn take the oil they feed to the lamps not directly from the Bible, but from the Golden bowl. This is counter to the Protestant belief that anyone can go directly to the Bible for present truth. Unfortunately, this Protestant view has been accepted by some Davidians as well.

Under God’s system, the seven lamps (all of the laity) are not to go directly to the Bible or the golden bowl themselves for present truth. This is also counter to many “lamps” belief that they have the right to go directly to the golden bowl for meat in due season. Someone may even exclaim, “What! Are you teaching that I can’t read the message for myself?!” Anyone can read the both the Bible and writings of the Spirit of Prophecy (the golden bowl), but in a larger sense, yes, the message teaches that it is seven tubes that are to take the exact present truth oil we need today from the Bowl and deliver it to the lamps. This is the Lord’s “only system” today.

Some may think, “This point is new to me and not all to my liking!” But if this is indeed what the Rod teaches, rejecting this teaching would be a mistake that genuine Davidians will want to avoid making. God’s true people will not be offended, rather they will be happy since they know that God, not man, is leading us into the very truth we most need today. As it turns out, this “perfect system” of producing and distributing the truth is indeed not “new,” but has always been what the message teachers. But it is today in a special way present truth for all Davidians. And incidentally, it is a good example of how we can have “meat in due season,” present truth, that is already in the golden bowl without needing a new prophetic messenger and message.

Since God calls this way of distributing the present truth His “perfect system,” the wise will be happy to accept this “new” truth. They will understand that is very much in their physical, mental and spiritual benefit, as is all present truth from God. Not only is this system what we need as individual Davidians to help us develop the character of Christ, it the way we will finally achieve unity and spiritual power as a people, for we are told that “It is the only remedy for isms and discord” among God’s peopl. There are those who think that reading the Spirit of Prophecy on their own is enough. While there is great light in the golden bowl, it is present truth specially adapted for this time that we most need now.

In the symbolism of Zechariah 4, the lamps do not take oil directly from the Bowl, but receive carefully selected present truth suited for their special needs today. This is important, because the there are many precious truths in the Spirit of Prophecy (golden bowl) that are not present truth for today. For example, “the old message, the "Judgment for the Dead," is out of date as is the message of Noah's flood,” 2TG30:18 The same is true with the Rod. There is much truth in the Rod on the Carmel pasture, but today, Carmel is not present truth any longer and so that part of the message is also as out of date as the message of Noah’s flood. These doctrines are still all truth, but not the present truth for our time that God’s knows we need now.

Many Davidian laymen (lamps in the symbolism of Zechariah 4) who believe in the Carmel pasture do not understand this because they are not connected to the seven tubes. Instead, they believe they can draw present truth directly from the Bowl themselves. But God has told us that the system of oil distribution shown in Zechariah 4 is His “only system.” God does not lie. The only way to receive the present truth we need to succeed today is through God’s perfect system. Anything else will result in confusion, discord and ultimately failure.

There is a deep seated and longstanding view among Christians, including Davidians, that they can select the oil themselves they need. “Can we not read the message for ourselves as well as any minister? We believe the Holy Spirit enlightens our understanding. The Rod teaches that “every true follower of Christ is inspired….” We do not need to only receive oil from the seven tubes, we can take it ourselves from the Bowl just as well they can. “Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy.” Numbers 16:3.”

It is true that anyone can read the Bible and the writings of the Spirit of Prophecy themselves. But the only system God has today for distributing the present truth oil that we so desperately need right now is through the seven tubes (the ministry) taking the oil in the Bowl to the lamps (the laity). Present truth comes from God. What is present yesterday may not be what is required today. It is not up to any individual to determine what is present truth and what is not. It is a great mistake for any person to say, “I accept this particular truth, but not that one.” It is not up to the individual to exercise their private judgment on what is present truth and what is not. The Lord Himself has created a perfect system of interpretation and distribution to meet ALL our present truth needs.

This is of course quite contrary to the protestant worlds way of thinking. “I can determine myself what is true and what is not true with the help of the Holy Spirit. I don’t need any man telling me what is present truth and what is not present truth.” But as we all understand by this point, God did in fact say He has a “perfect system” to distribute oil to the laity. The system is “perfect” because God controls every step of the overall process. He literally “holds the reins” in His own hands. There is no opportunity for teaching error, or for failing to provide the truth in due season. The Lord controls what is present truth. He also controls the entire process of distributing the oil through His system.

In practice, this means that God has filled the golden bowl to the brim through the two golden pipes with oil on many subjects. There is oil in the Bowl going back to 1844 and because the Rod is the final message, there is oil for all our future needs as well until the kingdom comes. There is so much oil in the bowl that it is impossible for any human being to know on their own what is the most needed present truth for today. This is where God’s perfect system comes into action. Faithful members (the lamps) need inspired present truth for today, not yesterday. The seven tubes transmit this oil directly to the lamps who are willing to receive it. Strange as the system may seem to some, this very system is what makes us into the great and wonderful people God needs today to finish the work. “This is the only system, moreover, that can make the church perfect, without spot, wrinkle, or any such thing -- a people without guile in their mouths, all seeing eye to eye, all saying the same thing.”1TG14:22

When you hear supposed Davidians saying something different than Bashan, you can be sure that they are not connected to God’s perfect system. In God’s judgement, we are either with Him or we are against Him. If we are not connected to God’s system, then in God’s view we are connected to the enemy’s’ system. It is very late in the day. It is time to set aside our proud feelings of independence, and instead, it is time and past time to make our calling and election certain with God’s final Association and be part of the Lord’s “perfect system” in the final moments of earth’s history.
