Today on Orkology video 8, we’re talking about one of the biggest misconceptions in Warhammer 40k lore...the idea that Ork technology “shouldn’t work.”

The truth is Ork tek does function, it’s just brutally improvised and instinct-driven engineering held together by scavenging, reverse engineering, and Ork belief just amplifying what’s already there.

I lightly break down why Ork weapons and vehicles aren’t just "pure magic", but instead reflect chaotic wartime engineering, reverse engineering understanding, and primal problem solving.

Later, I will cover the strange biological instincts built into the Orks themselves by the Old Ones.😏

Today on Orkology, video 7 we’re breaking down why Goffs (the biggest, meanest, and most brutally direct Orks in Warhammer 40k) wear black. And surprisingly, it makes a lot of sense when you look at real-world psychology and human history.

Across cultures, black has long been associated with authority, intimidation, death, toughness, rebellion, and raw power, which perfectly matches the Goff mindset of brutal close combat and overwhelming strength.

Ork beliefs, tribal identity, intimidation displays, and primal social signaling all tie into why Goffs see black as the color of being dead hard, serious, and built for fighting. To a Goff, flashy colors are distractions. Black means business, and business is krumpin’.

Orkology Video 6
I'm talking about why Orks in Warhammer 40k have absolutely horrifying safety standards.. or a lack there of.

This actually makes sense through something called risk normalization.

Orks grow up surrounded by constant explosions, gunfire, crashes, burns, and violence, so their brains treat extreme danger as completely normal everyday life.

I lightly discuss how repeated exposure to chaos changes behavior in humans, and how Orks are an engineered species that doesn’t just tolerate danger… they genuinely enjoy it!

If the engine explodes half the time but goes faster the other half, an Ork sees that as a success rate. Glass half full, lads!

Because to the Orks, safety isn’t exciting (or even thought about) but risk means speed, noise, violence, and a better story for the WAAAGH!

Today on Orkology, i'm breaking down why Orks use teef as currency in Warhammer 40k, and why it actually makes perfect biological sense.

Ork teeth constantly grow back, making them renewable, valuable, and directly tied to strength and survival.

Ork economics are built around primal instincts, dominance, and simple tribal logic, where bigger Orks usually have bigger teef and therefore more wealth. Plus, because teef rot over time, Orks are forced to keep fighting, spending, and keeping the WAAAGH moving.

Orkology Video 4
I'm talking about one of the most important laws of Ork science in Warhammer 40k: why dakka matters!

To Orks, more bullets means more noise, more destruction, more excitement, and more proof that something is powerful.

Breaking down how Orks connect overwhelming firepower to confidence, intimidation, momentum, and pure battlefield dominance, tying it into real-world psychology, suppression tactics, intimidation behavior.

Orks don’t just shoot to hit targets... they shoot because endless dakka feels right to a species built for war.

Sometimes overwhelming violence really is a strategy.

Orkology Video 3
I'm breaking down why Orks in Warhammer 40k naturally follow the biggest, meanest, and strongest boss in the room, and why that actually makes sense.

Orks don’t build societies around politics, diplomacy, or complicated social systems...

Orks operate on pure instinct, dominance, survival, and visible power.

Ork leadership actually mirrors real world animal hierarchies, primal human tribal behavior, alpha competition, and even evolutionary psychology, where strength often becomes the fastest and most understandable form of authority.

To an Ork, the biggest boss isn’t just “in charge” because others voted for him, he’s in charge because he proved he can survive, fight, intimidate, and lead the WAAAGH forward through sheer force.

The stronger the Warboss becomes, the more Orks gather around him, creating a feedback loop of violence, confidence, and momentum that can spiral into threats such as Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka.

Today on Orkology, we’re talking about why Orks in Warhammer 40k are absolutely obsessed with bolting more armor plates, scrap metal, spikes, and random junk onto literally everything they build. And honestly? From an Ork perspective, it makes perfect sense.

In this video I break down how Orks basically think less like precise engineers and more like primal survivalists and scavenger creatures, where bigger, heavier, louder, and tougher feels safer and more intimidating.

We’re tying Ork behavior into real-world biology, human psychology.

This type of piece mealed apocalyptic junk engineering comes from historical improvised wartime engineering, and is even how ancient humans used armor, trophies, and visual bulk to project dominance.

Orks don’t care about efficiency the same way humans do. At all.

Orks care about aggression, instilling fear, and BIGGER DAKKA.

If adding another slab of scrap metal makes a Trukk LOOK tougher, SOUND meaner, and survive even just one more hit, then OBVIOUSLY they're adding it on.

Because to an Ork, visible toughness is practically a law of nature. (See:🏁)
