Food boxes will be distributed at two local sites on Wednesday: The First Presbyterian Church in downtown Fairbanks from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Lord of Life Lutheran Church on St. Nicholas Drive in North Pole from noon to 2 p.m.

The Fairbanks Community Food Bank’s effort to collect turkeys to put into 3,300 Thanksgiving food boxes for the community is wrapping up.

While the business side of the restaurant will remain closed on Thanksgiving, Bobby’s Restaurant is serving free Thanksgiving meals from noon to 4 pm for everybody that has nowhere to go. Guests can expect a turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad and desserts.

Fairbanks restaurant Bobby’s Downtown is preparing to put on a free Thanksgiving meal for those in need in the community.
