👀 Are you looking for a whole class behavior system! Look no farther!!
My coteacher and I have a very active class and the beginning of the year was miserable. We were going home exhausted from having to constantly redirect behaviors. I was really skeptical when the behavior intervention teacher suggested this system, but it really has changed the class environment.
It’s real easy- first decide on one or two target get behaviors. We chose quiet mouth and listening ears ( we put visuals on the board). Then decide on an object ( mini erasers, Pom poms, jewels, fake coins, cotton balls) we change ours every month.
When you still a student demonstrating the target behaviors they get to put one of the objects in the jar. The goal is to fill the jar to the top or to a line. If they fill the jar, a heart is added to a poster ( which also changes every month). If the class gets the required number of hearts they get a reward ( pizza party, movie, extra recess, class party etc).
We had a whole class reward the first two days we introduced the system. The students are excited to see the new object every month.
