Cooking with Prince Vol. 2: Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, every new film release carries a unique sense of joy.  In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland's version of the webslinger finds himself at one of his lowest points; trying to balance the demands of a superhero lifestyle with that of an every day man with the added struggle of not being remembered by his closest friends (as a result of the spell cast in Spider-Man: No Way Home).  Additionally, Peter finds himself undergoing further mutation which threatens to consume even more of his human side.  Throughout the film Peter learns that he does not need to suppress his spider dna nor his humanity and that learning to harness both is the best path forward.  As a hip hop producer and lifelong Spider-Man fan, I too decided to combine two important aspects of my personality.  I challenged myself to produce an entire beat using only sounds selected from the film.

Cooking with Prince Vol. 1: Obsession (2026)

Inspiration can come from anywhere. This year's surprise box office smash Obsession (2026) contains incredible craftwork by up and coming film director Curry Barker and a breakout performance by rising star Inde Navarette. The quirks and audaciousness of the performance that Inde puts on (playing the character Nikki Freeman, forced into submission under the spell of a wish cast by her lovesick co-worker Bear who longs for her desire) offer up a fun and unique sound selection to toy around with. I challenged myself to produce an entire beat using only sounds and actions carried out by her particular character in the movie.
