In an interesting bit of engineering, Shield Sights launched the OMSsc red-dot sight with a clear top at SHOT Show earlier this year. Designed to allow a more full sight picture, the OMSsc uses the RMSc footprint and has a slim profile for mounting on micro-compact 9 mm pistols.

The St. Louis County, MO, police department just adopted the Springfield Armory Echelon pistol as the duty firearm for its more than 900 officers. The Echelon's ability to easily be configured for individual officers was cited as one of the driving forces for the contract.

When it comes to home security, is there even such a thing as "too much?" (Okay, yes, we know, there can be. Work with us here...) Adding an external, separate camera - like a cellularly connected trail camera from companies like Moultrie - doesn't add a lot of cost, but does increase peace of mind.

Should you care about the lot number on your ammunition? If you're concerned about long-range accuracy, absolutely. But, what about for general use? Is there a point in keeping tabs on lots of ammunition? There are instances where knowing when a lot changes might help.
