Illinois-based Rock River Arms is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The company’s story really began in 1994, when brothers Mark and Chuck Larson launched a small operation called Tolerance Plus from a two-story garage along the Rock River in Cleveland, Ill.

It originally produced high-quality custom 1911 components, but when the company incorporated as Rock River Arms in 1996, it expanded into AR-platform manufacturing.
