Fairfield Housing Authority Waitlist Update

Fairfield Housing Authority plans to reopen two rental assistance waitlists at the start of 2026. The Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Voucher waitlists will open for the first time in several years, giving Fairfield residents a new opportunity to apply for housing support.

Housing Authority staff are working with MRI Software to finalize a fair lottery process for both programs. Placement on each waitlist will follow lottery results.

A 30-day public notice will go out before the opening. Notices will appear in a local newspaper and on the City of Fairfield website.

Pre-applications will be available online through waitlistcheck.com. Paper applications will also be offered at the Housing Authority office for households without online access.

Opening dates will be shared once system coordination finishes.
