I would like to thank all my clients, family and friends for their support this year. It's been a whirlwind with the move to Idaho and a little cowgirl on the way in March.

The amount of gratitude I have for all of you gets bigger every year. I hope everyone goes into the new year fearless and ready to take on anything this year has to throw at you. Enjoy the little things at least once a day. Take in those challenging opportunities with grace to reflect how they had to take place in order for something new to arrive.

Love truly,

πŸ“– Terminology Tuesday πŸ“–
Today’s term: Metatarsal πŸ΄πŸ‘£

The metatarsals are the long bones in the foot (human) or hindlimb (horse) that sit between the ankle/hock and the toes/hoof.

πŸ”Ή In humans πŸ‘¨β€πŸ¦Ά:
β€’ We have five metatarsals in each foot, forming the arch and connecting the ankle to the toes.
β€’ They help us balance, walk, and run. πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

πŸ”Ή In horses 🐎:
β€’ Horses stand on one main metatarsal – the third metatarsal, commonly called the cannon bone.
β€’ On either side are two small vestigial metatarsals, the second and fourth, known as the splint bones.
β€’ Unlike us, horses evolved to walk on a single β€œtoe” 🦴, which gives them speed and efficiency. πŸ‡

✨ Fun perspective:
πŸ‘‰ Your middle toe = your horse’s entire hind limb weight-bearing structure (the cannon bone).
πŸ‘‰ The splint bones in horses are like tiny reminders of the toes they once had millions of years ago. 🌍⏳

This comparison shows how evolution shaped the horse into a powerful runner, while we’ve kept our five-toed design for versatility. πŸ’‘

Good luck to all my clients headed to the AEC's!! πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

When they meet you at the door when it's their turn. The relationships I build with the horses and owners is just something I truly cherish. πŸ₯°

The poor guy! I'm pretty sure he showed up to get his antler lasered.
