Fam,
Yesterday I was truly humbled as so many people called upon my mom to say they loved her and to thank her for how she impacted their lives. Calls came from across the nation and from around the globe. Family for my mom was not confined to blood but to whoever God placed in her path. She impacted so many lives and I was truly moved by this amazing outpouring of love for my mom. She stood only 4’11 but her spirit and love stood 8 feet tall.
We gathered as a family around my mom last night and said what we needed to say to her and to each other. In classic Mom fashion, she muscled us together one last time. I thank God for that opportunity, we all needed it.
A little after 1:20am this morning my mom closed her eyes here and I know she opened them in the glory of eternal life. My mom gave me the most amazing gift which was she introduced me to Jesus and she did that not only with her words but with how she lived her life.
Mom, I love you, rest in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. You sowed many seeds of hope and yesterday was just a glimpse how much your love through Jesus Christ continues to bear Fruit. Mom thank you for being you. I have been truly blessed to be your son. I thank God for blessing me with such an amazing mom!
