I am grateful for the country I live in

I would encourage every American to be grateful for their country, for it’s the home God gave them.

Even if you struggle to be a proud American, you can still be grateful.

The Bible tells us why:
“From one man God made all the people of the world. Now they live all over the earth. He decided exactly when they should live. And he decided exactly where they should live.” (Acts 17:26)

This Independence Day, here are some blessings to be grateful for:

Freedom: the majority of the world’s people lack fundamental liberties. Many cannot practice their religion, speak freely, or be educated. Since we were born with these freedoms, it’s easy to take them for granted, so this Independence Day, be grateful for the freedoms you have.

Beauty: God gave us such a beautiful land to live in! Go outside, look at the beauty around you, and thank Him. Being grateful enables you to enjoy God’s gifts more fully. So be thankful for His beautiful handiwork.

Opportunity: Tony Blair once said: “A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in . . . and how many want to get out.” Millions flock to our country because of the endless opportunities it provides. Be thankful and make the most of every opportunity God has given you to love and serve.

America isn’t perfect–but no nation has been or ever will be. Not one. Let’s be grateful as we work to make it better.
This Independence Day, be grateful for your country, for it’s the home God gave you.
