Summer flounder fishing can be downright brutal when the water heats up and the pressure’s on. The bite slows to a crawl, and it can really test your patience—but hey, that’s part of the game. Don’t sweat it too much; as the temps start to settle, things’ll pick up in the next few weeks.

After a full month grinding away at work, it felt like a breath of fresh air—literally—to be back on the water again. There’s something grounding about that salty breeze. Between 8 and 11 AM, I managed to land just one flounder, but even that felt like a small victory. That tug on the line reminded me why I keep coming back.

Even better, I got to share the morning with good company—Jason Aspinwall and Joe Vecsey.
